Coordinates and plans vehicle and equipment procurement. Develops, manages, and administers multiple service and commodity contracts, including cooperative contracts for the procurement of vehicles, service, equipment, and parts. Communicates with department Fleet Liaisons to identify vehicle replacement needs. Purchase of vehicles includes all City owned vehicles such as Small Utility vehicles, Pickup Trucks, Heavy Duty Service Trucks, Police Patrol and Detective, Solid Waste, Fire Apparatus and various other specialty vehicles. This position is working in the Fleet administrative offices, however, it will require entering the shop floor from time-to-time, working with technicians and parts team for items needed to complete the vehicles upfitting. This may also require going outside to inspect assets. When going through the shop work area, closed-toe footwear will be required to be worn.
