POSITION SUMMARY
The Assistant Controller performs a full range of technical and administrative work in maintaining the City of Bozeman’s fiscal records and systems. This includes ensuring monthly financial activity is in compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, participating in performing monthly and annual closing procedures, monitoring various accounts for accuracy, maintaining capital asset records, balancing and reconciling various accounts to the General Ledger, reviewing and assisting with accounts payable, preparing and reviewing journal entries, and preparing IRS tax information and reports. This individual must have the ability to quickly establish and maintain effective working relationships and provide exceptional service to all City Departments, employees, elected officials, and the general public.
