Purpose of Job

The purpose of this job is to develop, coordinate, and conduct technical and skill-based training for employees of the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to designing, developing, and conducting on-going technical and skill-based training programs, assessing and analyzing training and educational needs of employees and making pertinent recommendations, providing bookkeeping, database management, and registration support to Organizational Development staff, and preparing reports, correspondence, and payroll.
 

Job Related Requirements

Schedule: Monday-Friday 8:00AM-5:00PM. Occasionally may be required to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends.

May be required to work on religious holidays.

Regular and predictable attendance is required.

Must work cooperatively with others.

When requirements include vehicle operation, responsible for the safety, readiness and operation of the vehicle and must abide by ACC's safe driving policy.

MINIMUM TRAINING & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

Bachelor's degree or higher in Education, Public Administration, Organizational Management, Business Administration, or related field with two years of training, clerical, bookkeeping or general office related experience required or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this position.

Master's degree in related field preferred.

One year of Microsoft Office training experience preferred.

Experience delivering supervisory skills training preferred.

Must possess a valid driver's license.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES, RESPONSIBILITIES:

The following duties are normal for this job. These are not to be construed as exclusive or all-inclusive. Other duties may be required and assigned.

Develops and delivers new training programs; revises existing training programs based on best management practices.

Conducts technical and skill-based training programs including computer training.

Assesses organizational training and development needs by survey, interview, participant feedback, and on-going evaluation.

Researches, designs, and develops technical and skill-based training materials, visual aids, and workbooks for use by all levels of employees.

Coordinates Consultant-led training.

Assists Athens-Clarke County employees with registering for online training classes; notifies all employees of confirmed dates for classes.

Performs bookkeeping duties which may include the processing and issuing of purchase and traveling orders, authorizations for payment, vendor master forms, purchase requisitions and financial transactions, assisting in preparing and monitoring departmental budget, and other financial documents.

Processes personnel action forms, attendance and leave records, accident/injury reports, and payroll documentation for appropriate staff.

Manages various projects and tasks for Organizational Development as assigned including preparing and delivering Athens-Clarke County Unified Government organizational charts two times per year.

May attend meetings or events for the department relating relevant information to appropriate staff; acts as liaison between department and other groups and/or committees.

Performs administrative duties for the Organizational Development Division as assigned.

Performs other duties as required.
