The Gateway Center will be a centrally located, low-barrier emergency shelter for people experiencing homelessness. The Center will be open 24 hours a day throughout the year, and will provide services to help residents obtain permanent housing as quickly as possible. Albuquerque voters approved general obligation funds for the Gateway Center in fall 2019, and design and planning will begin in spring 2020. Position Summary Oversee and coordinate the Gateway Center program development within the Department of Family and Community Services; coordinate program requirements with other Departments including the Project/Construction Manager in the Department of Municipal Development other Divisions, agencies and community organizations; and provide highly responsible and complex administrative support to Department Director and Deputy Director. Minimum Education, Experience And Additional Requirements Education and experience directly related to the minimum requirements below may be interchangeable on a year for year basis. Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in arts or sciences; and Three (3) years of experience with social service program management and development. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: Possession of a valid New Mexico Driver's License or the ability to obtain by date of hire. Possession of a City Operator's Permit (COP) within six (6) months from date of hire. May be required to work nights and weekends on occasion. Analyze complex technical, administrative information and/or telecommunications systems problems, evaluate alternative solutions and recommend or adopt effective courses of action. Communicate effectively and persuasively; speak in large and small group settings; prepare and analyze comprehensive reports; conduct staff meetings. Exercise sound independent judgment within general policy guidelines. Establish and maintain effective work relationships with those contacted in the performance of required duties. Work effectively with diverse community groups. Encourage and leverage different perspectives, wisdom and experience of group members. Develop inclusive solutions.
