Performs a variety of advanced administrative and professional duties supporting the activities of the Mayor, City Council and City Administrator.
The City Recorder is responsible for coordinating the agendas and packets for the City Council and other boards, committees and commissions meetings ensuring compliance with laws governing public meetings and records. Records City Council proceedings and maintains official records and actions of the Council and other committees’ actions. Manages and maintains official City documents. Requires handling of sensitive and confidential information and substantial independent judgement. Assists with the drafting of ordinances and resolutions and acts as the elections officer for the City.
This person is responsible for assisting the Finance and Administrative Services Director in recording financial data for the City, building and maintaining financial tracking systems, and managing municipal liens.
