The Park Project Manager will oversee the planning, design, and construction of parks and recreational facilities as part of the City of Pflugerville's Capital Improvement Projects (CIP). This role is dedicated to delivering high-quality park projects that enhance community spaces, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and meet the City's strategic goals. The Park Project Manager will collaborate with city departments, consultants, and the public to create vibrant and sustainable parks that cater to the needs of Pflugerville's growing population.
Formal Education: Minimum requirement of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in civil engineering (any sub-discipline), environmental sciences or management, construction management, urban planning, or math/ sciences.
Relatable Work Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience as a project manager, with emphasis in the management of design and construction of land development or capital improvement projects (e.g., roadway, drainage, water and wastewater infrastructure).
Training, Licenses, and Certifications: Valid Class C Texas driver’s license and good driving record.
Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing civil engineering projects. Professional engineering (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) with ability to obtain a PE license in 1-year is preferred but not required. Master’s or other advanced degree relevant to the position. Professional engineering (PE) license, Engineer-in-Training (EIT), Project Management Professional (PMP), Certified Floodplain Manager (CFM), American Institute of Certified Planner (AICP) or other professional designation indicating specialty relevant to CIP.
Disclaimer: Unless otherwise stated, applicants are permitted to substitute two years of related full-time experience for one year of higher education or one year of related higher education for two years of experience in order to meet the minimum requirements of the job. One year of full-time experience is define as 30 or more hours worked per week for 12 months. One year of higher education is defined as 30 credit hours completed at an accredited college or university.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, as well as strong time and task management skills.
Ability to interface professionally with the internal and external public via telephone and in person.
Subject to sitting and standing to perform essential functions in an office environment; must lift up to 30 lbs.
Visual acuity, speech, and hearing; hand and eye coordination and manual dexterity necessary to operate office equipment
Regularly scheduled for 5-day, 40-hour workweek, Monday through Friday; overtime occasionally required; continuously on-call throughout weekends and evenings.
