Job Description

Clackamas County seeks an experienced leader to plan, organize, supervise, and direct the central administrative functions of the Office of the County Administrator as the Administrative Services Manager. This role will oversee the diverse administrative operations of County Administration, such as budgeting, contract administration, purchasing, and professional, technical, and clerical support activities. The incumbent will be responsible for hiring and directing professional, administrative, and clerical staff to ensure they provide outstanding customer service to the public and county staff. Working in a politically-sensitive environment with frequent interaction with elected officials, the Administrative Services Manager is responsible for overseeing the Office's constituent work, including responding to inquiries and researching and following through on responding to the public. It will also contribute to the planning, identification, research, and implementation of the County Administrator’s policy priorities.

Competitive candidates will possess a working knowledge of public administration, community and government relations, research, policy, and problem-solving methods.  The most competitive candidates will demonstrate a broad understanding of project management methods and techniques and government financing methods and funding sources.

The Office of the County Administrator works with the Board of County Commissioners to provide effective and quality service to all county programs.
