Would you enjoy full-time summer work in the outdoors that will help spruce up and maintain Naperville's water delivery infrastructure?

The City's Water & Wastewater Utility seeks two summer outdoor workers for manual labor assignments centered around fire hydrant painting.  You will be required to drive daily on City business.  Full Time, Monday - Friday (approx. 7AM – 3:30PM), May to August.

Reporting to the Water Supply Supervisor, your job duties will include hydrant scraping & painting (all City hydrants are painted on a 5-year cycle).  You may also mow grass, perform sprinkler patrol, clean and organize Water & Wastewater Utility warehouse inventory, etc.

  •  High school graduate. Some college coursework preferred.
  • Professional demeanor required in order to represent the City to (& interact with) residents.
  • Applicants must be at least 18 years of age to apply for a position with the City.
  • Valid State of Illinois Class D Driver's License. Applicants should possess a driving history with no moving violations for at least the last twelve (12) months.

Relatives of city employees or City Council members are not eligible to apply.  Any offer of employment will be contingent upon a pre-employment / post-offer drug screen.
