Summer Worker - Water Supply

JOB DESCRIPTION

The City's Water & Wastewater Utility seeks two summer laborers for to assist the Water Supply Section.  
 
The City purchases Lake Michigan water and safely & efficiently supplies it to all residences & businesses in Naperville.   We need two self-motivated persons to help our Supply team keep up with associated workload.  You will be required to drive on City business.  The work is full time, Monday - Friday (approx. 7AM – 3:30PM), May to August, and is mostly outdoors.  

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Reporting to the Water Supply Supervisor, your primary duties will include buildings and grounds maintenance and upkeep at all City water supply sites (towers, reservoirs, pumping stations, garages/warehouses, etc.  Other duties include (but are not limited to) painting and fence repairs.

QUALIFICATIONS

• High school graduate.  Some college coursework preferred.
• Professional demeanor required in order to represent the City to (& interact with) residents.
• Be handy with basic hand tools and yard machinery.
• Be at least 18 years of age.  
• Valid State of Illinois Class D Driver's License.  Applicants should possess a driving history with no moving violations for at least the last twelve (12) months.

 
You should also bring energy and be self-motivated (once trained, you’ll be working mostly without supervision). This is an excellent opportunity to learn and work for a progressive organization.
