Provides support to managers in interpreting and applying policy, the hiring process, administering administrative remarks, and termination process. Conducts investigations into employee complaints and mediates conflict between employees, when necessary. Manages affirmative action program and maintains related data. Responsible for answering reasonable accommodation requests and the interactive process. Manages FMLA responsibilities, including advising and training supervisors on their responsibilities related to FMLA. Assists in communicating processes, procedures, and policies to employees. Maintains compliance with all federal and state regulations; maintains confidentiality. Assists with other projects, as assigned by the Director.
Minimum knowledge equivalent to a bachelor’s degree in human resources or related field. Minimum experience equivalent to three years doing related work. SHRM-CP or PHR certification, preferred.
Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Knowledge of human resources principles, labor and employee relations, and employment law including FMLA, FLSA, Title VII, PDA, ADEA, ADA, and USERRA. Knowledge of basic principles of fact-finding research and investigation. Critical thinking, attention to detail, and organization and problem solving skills. Ability to accurately communicate, including in writing, and in an effective, tactful and courteous manner.
Monday-Friday 8-5 p.m. and other times, as required.
