SALARY:$23.12 - $30.98 Hourly

The Public Works Wastewater/Storm Division is looking for a dedicated individual with good work ethic who works well with a team or as an individual contributor. tour team works in all weather conditions, responds to afterhours emergencies, observes safe work practices, and makes appropriate use of related safety equipment as required.  
This position is critical to our efforts to maintain safe storm and sanitary infrastructure and plays a key role in the inspection of underground utilities using CCTV equipment and working out of a TV Inspection Van. This work is imperative to meeting our annual inspection requirements.

  • Inspect storm and sanitary systems, document readings using NASSCO PACP format
  • Perform punch list inspections for our engineering staff for private development and CIP projects
  • Perform maintenance and repairs to CCTV equipment. Trouble shoot issues to keep equipment running
  • Provide supervisor with work schedule to meet  DEQ permit requirements 



Any combination of training and experience, which would provide the required knowledge, skills, and abilities is qualifying.  A typical way to obtain the required qualifications would be:

  • Equivalent to the completion of the twelfth (12th) grade minimum; AND
  • Five (5) years of skilled journey-level construction and maintenance experience in sewer and storm water distribution systems including two (2) years of experience in remote CCTV pipe inspection and applied PACP structural ratings.
  • Preference will be given to candidates holding an associate's degree in wastewater sciences.

Licenses and Certifications:

  • Possession of a valid class A driver's license with the appropriate endorsements and satisfactory driving record.
  • Grade II Wastewater Operator Certification from the State of Oregon.
  • NASSCO Certification in PACP preferred 

These can be obtained after hire:

  • Flagger Certification – Traffic Work Zone Safety
  • Confined Space Entry Certification.
  • Competent Person Certification.
  • Standard First Aid Certificate issued by the American Red Cross.
  • CPR Certification. 



Union Representation: SEIU

Schedule: Generally, working days are Monday through Thursday one week (9-hour days) and Monday through Friday (9-hour days Monday through Thursday and an 8-hour day on Friday) the next week. This schedule provides 3-day weekends every other weekend.

The successful candidate will pass a physical capacities test designed to evaluate ability to perform the essential physical functions of the job.
