This position manages the Enterprise and Applications Division for the City of Bloomington Information & Technology Services (ITS) Department. Incumbent ensures smooth and consistent operations of the division; effective project planning and project management; successful selection, implementation and maintenance of software and digital services; and that the quality and quantity of work performed by the division is acceptable. Duties include the following: Manages the provision of business analysis, GIS support, application support, database administration, systems integration, data services, and application development services. Assesses needs, evaluates systems, and recommends modifications, upgrades, and replacements. Supervises the evaluation, selection, implementation, and maintenance of applications and digital services. Serves as lead project manager for division projects and others, as assigned. Manages external partnerships (vendors, interns, academic project teams, coding brigade, open source collaborators, and community members) to advance ITS goals and projects. Monitors trends and product developments in information technology. Recommends the purchase of information technology systems, when warranted. Ensures the quality and successful implementation of digital services and applications for City residents. Troubleshoots and fixes problems in information technology systems in collaboration with the Technology Support group.
Bachelor’s degree in a related field such as computer science or information science is required. Master’s Degree in a related field is preferred. Minimum experience of at least three years. Experience with Linux/UNIX, free & open source software (FOSS), and project management software is preferred.
Hours: 8:00am - 5:00pm, Monday - Friday
