Competitive compensation package:
Annual Salary Range: $93,182 - $117,870
Hourly Pay Rate: $44.79 - $56.66
*Starting salaries will be within the posted pay range, based on job-related factors, such as relevant experience. This may include military service, paid work, and unpaid work (internships, volunteering, etc.).

Clackamas County Department of Transportation & Development is seeking a motivated, team-oriented, self-directed individual with strong communication and interpersonal skills to join our Development Engineering team as a Civil Engineer. If selected for this position, your main focus will be on the review of construction documents and plans for compliance with civil engineering industry standards and guidelines, County standards, and land use conditions of approval. In this role, you will provide assistance to the public on policies, procedures, requirements, Codes and Statutes relating to development in Clackamas County. You will have an opportunity to work closely with developers and their consultants in the review of development projects.

Duties may include but are not limited to the following:
Occasional duties in the field require walking, twisting, balancing, and involve exposure to inclement weather, noise, and slippery and/or uneven terrain.
This position works 40 hours during a standard workweek of either (5/8): Monday through Friday (8 hours per day), (4/10): Monday through Thursday (10 hours per day) with every Friday off, or (9/80): Monday through Thursday (9 hours per day) and every other Friday (8 hours), with every other Friday off. Specific work schedule will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended.

ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT
The mission of the Department of Transportation and Development (DTD) is to assist citizens and businesses in creating vibrant, sustainable communities through innovative and responsive public service.
DTD is responsible for a broad range of county services involving land use planning and permitting, building permits, county code enforcement, solid waste and recycling, road construction and maintenance, surveying, plat approvals, public land corner restoration and dog services. The county’s urban renewal programs also report to DTD.
