Designs, researches, and prepares planning documents to address community development and housing needs.
Collaborates and engages with government, private industry, non-profits, and residents to seek public input on community needs and challenges.
Conducts environmental reviews on grant-funded activities to determine the impacts of projects on the environment (e.g. air quality, clean water, historical significance, tribal history) prior to the use of federal funds.
Develops and conducts needs assessments for community-related services such as disaster planning and recovery, fair housing, homelessness, broadband, mental health, and service delivery to provide recommendations for federal projects.
Maintains database of housing and economic development demographic indicators for long-term HUD Consolidated planning.
Maintains strong working knowledge of federal and state laws and regulations governing federal grant programs.
Maintains and updates policies and procedures for review by Planner and Director of all activities funded through Community Development.
Administers and monitors grant-funded special projects to ensure compliance.
Prepares internal and external performance reports as required.
Provides programmatic technical assistance for various County departments, cities, and non-profit organizations via classes, training, and documentation.
Provides administrative support to councils and committees.
Gives public presentations during public input sessions.
Performs all other related duties involved in the operation of the business as assigned or required.
