The City of Beaverton's Water Operations Department is rapidly growing due to an expanding system and increased development occurring throughout Beaverton. To meet these needs, the city is hiring multiple positions, from entry level to journeymen. There are several vacancies within the water department and all employees are responsible for ensuring efficient and cost effective installation, maintenance and repair of city water distribution systems. The water distribution team is responsible for the uninterrupted delivery of safe aesthetically pleasing water to the residents of Beaverton.
Depending on assignment and if required to have a CDL A or B, note that this is a DOT-covered and SEIU classified position. Individuals in this position will be subject to random drug screens/breath alcohol tests in accordance with DOT guidelines.

• Some experience in water distribution systems, which may include experience using heavy equipment in this field OR public works/construction experience
• Flagger training required within 12 months of hire.
• CPR and First Aid certification within 12 months of hire.
**Depending on assignment:
Commercial Driver's License - A or B with air brake and tank endorsement, may be required depending on assignment.
Water Distribution Certificate I required (out-of-state certifications will be accepted and if hired, the candidate will be given six months from their date of hire to transfer the certification to Oregon) with level II certification required within 12 months of hire.
Ability to pass reference checks, a background check, CDL history check, physical and drug screen.
