 The City of Baytown, Texas is searching for a Community Engagement Coordinator to lead the city’s civic engagement efforts.  This position will take the lead in creating opportunities for public dialogue, engagement, and volunteerism and will be a key player in building trust, connection, and commitment among residents and between the community and city government.   In this role you will have the opportunity to:

  • Connect with Community Organizations and Corporate Partners
  • Empower Neighborhood Groups
  • Create pathways to volunteerism
  • Coordinate the Public Art Visioning Committee
  • Lead the Youth Advisory Council
  • Create a Citizens Academy
  • Support Imagine Baytown and City Council Goals

Minimum requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent years of directly related experience
  • 3 years of relevant experience in volunteerism, community engagement, outreach, local government, education, or non-profit work.


  • Master’s Degree in related field
  • Bilingual Spanish
