Specific duties include, but are not limited to:

  • Assume supervisory duties in the absence of the Maintenance Technician II.
  • Inspect and perform diagnostic analysis on electrical, hydraulic, hydronic, systems, controls, pumps, motors, machinery and other equipment associa25.54- ted with water and wastewater treatment facilities, equipment, infrastructure and systems.
  • Inspect and measure parts to detect wear, misalignment or other problems.
  • Troubleshooting system failures.
  • Use electrical/electronic testing equipment such as multi-meters, ammeters, megohmmeters, high potential testers, oscilloscopes, and digital probes to troubleshoot and repair equipment.
  • Design and build electrical and/or electronic control devices.
  • Provide recommendations for improvements on equipment and control systems.
  • Read/interpret engineering drawings and manuals to install, calibrate and maintain electrical apparatus. Work from complex engineering and manufacturers drawings or manuals to complete projects.
  • Fabricate and repair equipment by welding, soldering, and cutting using plasma cutters and acetylene torches.
  • Operate and test equipment for proper working order following repair. 

Note: This position is subject to standby duty and call-back during non-regular working hours, weekends and holidays.  In addition, this position is subject to federally-mandated random drug testing. 

 

Pay and Benefits:

During the probationary period, the pay range for this position ranges from $21.89- $24.99 per hour.  Upon successful completion of the probationary period, this position will move to the regular pay schedule which consists of pay steps and hourly rates ranging from $25.54- $30.01 per hour.  The City of Keene also offers a strong benefits package, including health, dental, life, disability, retirement, paid leave time and more!

 

Minimum Qualifications:

One year certificate from college or technical school; plus one to three years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience in hydraulics, electronics, and central systems required.  Supervisory experience is desired.  NH Master’s Level Electricians License required.  Valid driver’s license required.  Grade I NH Water Treatment License required within one year of employment and Grade I NH Wastewater Treatment License required within two years of employment.  Valid CDL and Grade II NH Water Distribution License are both desired.
