The City of Tigard is currently recruiting for a Building Division Supervisor, The Building Division Services Supervisor position is a very dynamic position with a mix of providing supervision of the permit processing staff, overseeing the counter operations, administering the permit tracking system and generally assisting the Building Official in the administration of the Building Division. This includes helping with the budget, contract administration and reporting. The position also provides training for permit tracking system users and helps update system functions as changes occur.
The ideal candidate will have a well-rounded background in building permitting and tracking. Experience with financial systems and reporting would be highly valuable as well as experience with software system administration. Working well with a diverse group of teammates and citizens is critical to having success in this position. Demonstrating the ability to supervise and lead coworkers with respect and care is a requirement of this position and the selected candidate.

Schedule: The position will generally work a 4-10 hour schedule Monday-Thursday. There is room for flexibility in the schedule and the potential for some remote work. Since this position supervises the counter operations, there is a need for much of the work to take place on-site but as training and delegation develop over time, opportunities for remote work will increase.
The monthly range for this position is $5,527-$7,227 per month. The starting pay assignment, based on an analysis of the successful candidate’s related experience and education in accordance with the City’s pay equity policy and the Oregon Equal Pay Act, would be no higher than $6,688 per month. This position is exempt.
