The City Clerk serves as official custodian of records, responding to requests for information and documents from the general public and public officials following Missouri Sunshine Law and Freedom of Information Act guidelines. This position is responsible for ensuring that all codes, ordinances and other official documents are accurately recorded and readily available upon request. Additionally, the City Clerk acts as primary media liaison, and provides support to the City Council in the development of any media initiatives. This position reports directly to the City Manager.
The applicant must be self-motivated and work independently, have good organizational skills, be able to prioritize tasks, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, be detail oriented, and pass a background check and drug screen. Work hours are M-F from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm with paid holidays. Some evenings will be required. Starting wage range for this position will be $48,963.20 - $73,424.00 depending on education and experience.
Minimum Training and Experience: Associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; and two years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Preferred Training and Experience: bachelor’s degree from a college or university; and four or more years’ related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
