The City of Eugene City Manager's Office is seeking a dynamic, collaborative, and community minded person to lead the Office of Human Rights and Neighborhood Involvement (HRNI). The HRNI team is a fast-paced and high-functioning work group dedicated to community engagement, equity and transparency. This team develops meaningful relationships with the community in an ongoing effort to build a safe, welcoming and inclusive community. The office provides staff support to the 23 recognized neighborhood associations of Eugene, as well as staff support to the Human Rights Commission, which advises the City Council on issues of human rights, accessibility, community education and outreach.
You are someone who is genuinely committed to an environment that is centered on collaboration and teamwork. You will not only lead a team of highly dedicated and talented people, but also interfaces and builds partnerships with the public, elected officials, public agencies, community organizations, and City staff. You have proven success leading a team, building relationships, and dealing with sensitive issues and situations using diplomatic, responsive and tactful approaches. You are someone who can effectively facilitate conversations one-on- one or in large groups to support the community and the organization in equity, inclusion, and community engagement.
