The Bureau of Planning and Sustainability (BPS) is seeking an Public Health & Built Environment Analyst (Analyst I).
This position works with a variety of bureau teams to develop strategies and approaches to improve public health outcomes through land use planning, community development, and sustainability projects. The position will be involved in highlighting the connection between the physical built environment (streets, sidewalks, parks, etc.) and the health of people living and working in that place. Under general supervision, performs a variety of professional duties, including planning, analysis, organizing, evaluating programs and functions and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.
This position is within the Bureau of Planning and Sustainability's Comprehensive Planning Team. The Comprehensive Plan, which is required by Oregon law, is the City’s core tool for manage growth, development, and transportation systems to best meet long-range goals. Through development and implementation of the plan, Portland reaches climate, housing, economic development, and equity outcomes that meet community-defined objectives.
