Job Description

This is a Limited Duration position.  Persons appointed to limited term positions will be designated as limited duration employees whose appointment shall not exceed two (2) years except for the extension of grants or funding from outside sources.   
The Bureau of Planning & Sustainability is seeking a Clean Industry Development Coordinator (Coordinator II) to help Portland to become a national leader in clean industry development and circular economy practices. The Clean Industry Development Coordinator will project manage a clean industry study and analysis to evaluate the scope, role and needs for creating a clean industry hub in Portland that supports the decarbonization, circular economy practices and more efficient use of materials and resources for the largest individual emitters of greenhouse gases in Portland: industry and large institutions, such as hospitals and higher education. The Clean Industry Development Coordinator will commission this study and manage and oversee the request for proposals, ensuring that it meets timelines and outcome goals. They will also convene and provide staff support to a diverse 20-member stakeholder advisory committee to inform this project and identify synergies and collaboration opportunities, support implementation of pilot projects and work with the advisory committee and consultants to identify an implementation plan for moving this work ahead after the study is complete.
