Job Description

 

The Portland Housing Bureau is recruiting for a Neighborhood Housing Preservation Program (NHP) Manager. The work of the NHP team serves thousands of low-income Portlanders to increase Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) homeownership and to support homeowners obtain and retain their homes. The position reports to the Deputy Director and manages a $10M budget of programs and a team of 8 FTE. 

 

The NHP Manager must have the ability to apply an equity lens to all policy and programmatic decisions, with a good sense and understanding of the challenges faced by vulnerable and historically marginalized communities. The position is expected to carry out responsibilities with initiative, independence and creativity while exercising sound professional judgment and problem-solving skills.  The NHP Manager requires a high degree of public involvement, complex problem-solving skills, people management, and political acumen. Existing relationships and understanding of Culturally Specific and Community Based Organizations is a plus.
