Job Description

The Clackamas County Community Development (CD) Division is looking for an experienced individual to coordinate and manage the division’s grant funded community development projects, and assist with the various duties associated with federal grants compliance.  CD has two Project Coordinator positions, one occupied and one vacant. This position will work under the general direction of the Community Development Manager. 

Community development projects may include funding from the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program and HOME Investment Partnerships Program (HOME), local jurisdictional funds from cities, as well as other internal and external funding sources. The CD Project Coordinators are assigned to specific projects and work independently.  However, certain regulatory responsibilities such as environmental reviews, labor compliance, and period reporting may be shared between the Project Coordinators.

Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:

  • At least 2 years of experience with reading and understanding construction documents, including schematics and architectural blueprints.
  • At least 1 year of work experience and understanding of construction techniques and terminology.
  • Skill to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Driving is required for County business on a regular basis or to accomplish work. Incumbents must possess a valid driver's license, and possess and maintain an acceptable driving record throughout the course of employment. 

Preferred Special Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:

  • At least 2 years of construction management experience and the applicability of the programmatic regulations.
  • At least 2 years of experience working with the CDBG program.
  • Experience with comprehensive technical report writing.
  • Working knowledge of state and/or federal labor requirements.
  • Experience with a public bidding/procurement process.
  • Experience conducting project specific environmental reviews
  • Experience with federal and/or state labor laws and regulations.

  • The salary range is $62,302 - $79,009 Annually
  • This position will work 37.5 hours per week.
