The Department of Planning and Parks for the City of Wildwood, Missouri is seeking candidates for the full-time position of Superintendent of Parks and Recreation. This position develops, manages and conducts parks and recreation activities, programs and civic events, as well as managing operations/maintenance of parks, trails, and recreation facilities with the City.
Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following: implementation of the Action Plan for Parks and Recreation 2018, manage daily operations of parks, trails, and recreation activities, fiscal efficiency, preparation of Budget for park and trail projects, negotiate/manage relevant vendor contracts, coordinate programs with other recreational providers, staff liaison to volunteer/advisory committees, manage civic events, and preparation of relevant analytical reports.
The ideal candidate for this position will possess a high level of energy, Bachelor’s degree in a related field, and two years of experience in parks and recreation planning, programming, and maintenance. Managerial experience is a plus. A valid driver’s license is required. Core office hours are Monday – Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm., with significant evening and weekend hours for events.
The salary range for this position is $66,152 - $95,920 and will be dependent upon experience/skill set. The City also offers an excellent benefit package.
