The Village of Arlington Heights is accepting applications for a Part-Time Human Resources Generalist position to work 25 hours per week approximately 9:00 am – 2:00 pm Monday through Friday in the Human Resources Department.
Under the direction of the Assistant Department Director, provides administrative, analytical, and technical support to the Human Resources Department. Supports the Villages DEI priority by creating a welcoming environment for all and fostering an inclusive workforce. Responsible for creating an employee experience from the recruitment and talent acquisition of applicants through the employee onboarding and retention process. Recruitment of new hires for full-time, part-time, seasonal, internships, and temporary positions and also that promotional processes. Assists in organizing training and development activities. Responds to and interacts with employees, and/or others within and outside the organization in a courteous, professional, and effective manner. Performs confidential administrative human resource functions.
This position will conduct various surveys, as well as compile and analyze data. Will assist applicants with inquiries and concerns over the phone or in person. Reviews and updates job descriptions and create job postings for open positions.
This position requires a minimum of an Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or equivalency of college hours working towards a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field. A minimum of three years of experience in Human Resources, professional certification is highly desired, or an equivalent combination of education and experience is sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
The minimum hourly rate is $32.34. This position will pay into an IMRF pension, however, does not qualify for any additional benefits including; paid time off or medical insurance.

The Village of Arlington Heights a northwest suburb of Chicago, population 75,101, is accepting applications for Program Coordinator at the Senior Center, a division of the Health & Human Services Department.
This position is responsible for all aspects of researching, planning, implementing, coordinating and evaluating programs and events for the Senior Center. This position involves interacting with other Village staff, internal agencies and external organizations to provide high quality services to older adults of the community.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to creating materials to promote programs and events that emulate a positive image of aging. Marketing material may include bi-monthly newsletters, flyers, monthly reports, press releases and social media postings. Knowledge of programs and services relating to senior services and skill in writing reports preferred. Good knowledge of social media and Microsoft Office programs. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services, Social Services, or related field and two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Starting salary for this position is $78,902 and includes a diverse and competitive benefits package. May need to work evenings and/or weekends on occasion.
