Job Description


Under the general direction of the City Manager’s office or his/her designee, this position provides vital information to City residents, businesses, and various media outlets. This shall be accomplished by maintaining working relationships with media outlets, writing press releases, updating and serving as the primary administrator of the City website, preparing presentations and print materials for meetings and special events, developing and distributing newsletters, brochures and other marketing materials, promoting community events and economic development projects, maintaining government access media activities such as programming for cable television, and managing various social media outlets, and other communication-related duties as assigned. 

The work also involves performing a variety of complex tasks requiring independent judgment, discretion, and due diligence in the performance of the essential job duties and responsibilities, as well as sound interpretation of local, state, and federal policies and regulations.
