In August 2021, Eugene will host the World Athletics Championships Oregon21. The 10-day event will bring this world competition for track and field to Eugene and to the United States for the very first time. The World Athletics Championships will be the world's largest sporting event in 2021.
Eugene has a long history of hosting world-class track and field events and our tradition and reputation as TrackTown, USA makes our community and state the perfect first place in the United States to host the World Championships. 'Eug2021' is the City's program area responsible for ensuring a successful event in the eyes of our community. This team serves as the primary liaison with Oregon21, and coordinates interdepartmental and inter-agency efforts to prepare the community for this event. The City of Eugene's goal is to maximize results from existing plans and policies that support the event, engage the community, and inspire the world.

The City's Eug2021 team is seeking someone ready to hit the ground running on a variety of tasks related to preparing the community for both the World Athletics Championships Oregon21 and the future. This person will be expected to perform a variety of professional analytical and administrative duties, including: program and project management, which includes policy research and analysis; planning and implementing various department and/or City-wide programs, activities and administrative processes; and developing, overseeing and evaluating procedures and practices in the assigned program area. This position provides complex staff assistance to section managers, division managers, and Executive Directors. The ideal candidate for this job is someone eager to learn, willing to take direction and meet expectations while maintaining flexibility and creativity to help guide the direction of Eug2021, and thrives in building relationships with diverse communities. The candidate needs to possess the abilities and skills to translate visions into plans, transform inspiration into actions through leadership and cultivate collaboration with partners, and foster relationships with a variety of diverse communities through various platforms.

Depending on the qualification of the applicant may be filled at the Management Analyst 1 level or the Management Analyst 2 level.

Management Analyst 1 - $27.81 - $35.96
Management Analyst 2 - $30.57 - $39.55

Location:  99 W 10th Ave, Suite #370, Eugene, OR.
Schedule:  Monday - Friday with ocassional weekends and evenings.
