Applications are being accepted for the position of part-time Account Clerk in the Finance Department. The hours are 9:30 am to 3:00 pm Monday through Friday.
Under direct supervision, this position performs money collections paid to the Village within prescribed guidelines. Prepares and processes various receipt forms, receives and posts payments, maintain logs, enters data into the computer, and verifies accuracy of payment accounts. Collects and processes payments of water bills, building permits, vehicle stickers, dog tags, business license fees from residents and other customers. Responsibilities include answering inquiries from residents on the phone or in person regarding payments to the Village. Preferred candidate would have a working knowledge of basic clerical/mathematical practices as well as the ability to provide exceptional customer service to the public. In addition, provides backup services to the Customer Service Representative as needed.
Requirements include a high school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) and a minimum of two years of experience providing clerical, accounting, and customer service skills, or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. Additionally requires knowledge of cash collection and cash processing procedures. Position requires effective communication and customer service skills as demonstrated by prior experience. Ability to work as a member of a team.
Minimum hourly rate is $28.13 per hour.

The Village of Arlington Heights a northwest suburb of Chicago, population 75,101, is accepting applications for Program Coordinator at the Senior Center, a division of the Health & Human Services Department.
This position is responsible for all aspects of researching, planning, implementing, coordinating and evaluating programs and events for the Senior Center. This position involves interacting with other Village staff, internal agencies and external organizations to provide high quality services to older adults of the community.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to creating materials to promote programs and events that emulate a positive image of aging. Marketing material may include bi-monthly newsletters, flyers, monthly reports, press releases and social media postings. Knowledge of programs and services relating to senior services and skill in writing reports preferred. Good knowledge of social media and Microsoft Office programs. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services, Social Services, or related field and two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Starting salary for this position is $78,902 and includes a diverse and competitive benefits package. May need to work evenings and/or weekends on occasion.
