Job Description

Administration Specialist – MWVCOG. The Mid-Willamette Valley Council of Governments (MWVCOG) is seeking an Administration Specialist. This position will report to the Administrative Support Coordinator and will provide a variety of clerical work involving customer service and general administrative support functions.  Advanced knowledge of office practices and procedures; word processing, spreadsheet, and database software; English grammar, spelling, and usage; record keeping methods; and report composition and preparation techniques. Working knowledge of basic accounting and research methods. Admin I: This position is distinguished from the Receptionist position in the requirement of specialized knowledge to complete the duties assigned and the responsibility of specific project coordination and completion. Advanced knowledge of office practices and procedures; word processing, spreadsheet, and database software; English grammar, spelling, and usage; record keeping methods; and report composition and preparation techniques. Working knowledge of basic accounting and research methods. High School diploma or GED, preferably supplemented by post high school related coursework in public/business administration or related field; and one year experience in performing similar duties; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Hiring Range: $20.92-$23.09 per hour

Admin II: This position is distinguished from the Administrative Specialist 1 position in the requirement of specialized program/department knowledge to complete the duties assigned and the responsibility of specific project coordination and completion. Advanced knowledge of office practices and procedures; word processing, spreadsheet, and database software; English grammar, spelling, and usage; record keeping methods; and report composition and preparation techniques. Working knowledge of basic accounting and research methods. High School diploma or GED, preferably supplemented by post high school related coursework in public/business administration or related field; and three years’ experience in performing similar duties; or any equivalent combination of education and experience which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position. Hiring Range: $23.50-$25.95 per hour

Requirements Education/experience as stated above, or any equivalent combination that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the above duties and responsibilities. All candidates are subject to a background check.
