The City of Bozeman is seeking an innovative, collaborative and service orientated professional to serve as its Community Development Director. This is a wonderful opportunity to play a significant role in a community that has it all-a gripping history, spectacular scenery, a distinctive culture, and a promising future.
The Community Development Director’s principal function is to provide leadership for the City’s Community Development Department, including directing, planning, and overseeing all activities and operations of the department. The Community Development Department houses the Building Division, the Code Compliance Division, Historic Preservation, and the Planning Division. The Director works under the administrative direction of the City Manager’s office.
The ideal candidate will have a master’s degree in Urban Planning, Public Administration, or a closely related field. A minimum of seven years of increasingly responsible experience in municipal planning and development, including at least five years of supervisory experience is required.
