Competitive compensation package:

Annual Salary Range: $52,355 - $65,903

Hourly Pay Rate: $25.17 - $31.68

*Salary offers will be made within the posted pay range and will be based on a candidate's experience (paid or unpaid) that is directly relevant to the position.

If you answered “yes” to the questions above, we want you to join our team as a Child Support Enforcement Agent 1 in the Family Support Office of the Clackamas County District Attorney's Office. We are searching for a motivated, detail-oriented individual with excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. If selected for this position, you will provide specialized assistance to District Attorneys in establishing, modifying, and enforcing child support cases. As a Child Support Enforcement Agent 1, you will have an opportunity to provide services that help children in our community receive the financial support they need, thus enhancing their well-being. This is a critical role within the DA Family Support Office with direct involvement in establishing paternity, child support and medical support court orders and monitoring, enforcing and modifying these orders to collect continuing child support payments. Another essential component of this position is to determine and initiate appropriate administrative and judicial processes in compliance with statutes, rules, policies, and timelines.

As an employee of the Clackamas County District Attorney's office, which plays a role in providing justice and upholding the rule of law, you are required to meet the highest standards of professional conduct and ethics while on the job, and also to maintain those same high standards when taking actions in your personal life that could reflect on the Department.

Required Minimum Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*

• A minimum of one (1) year of experience working with the public in person or over the phone, providing information about available services and programs and addressing and resolving customer issues and complaints

• Experience with interview and negotiation techniques used to obtain information necessary to make agreements and findings

• Experience reading and interpreting court and administrative orders, contracts, documents, lease agreements, credit reports, and/or other related legal documents

• Strong verbal and written communication skills that demonstrate the ability to interact with diverse individuals under stressful situations

• Strong interpersonal skills that translate into all of the following:

• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships and partnerships both internally and externally

• Ability to handle a wide range of situations and circumstances effectively, positively, and professionally and to maintain composure in difficult, stressful and quickly emerging situations

Preferred Special Qualifications/ Transferrable Skills:*

• Education, training or experience with legal terminology

• Knowledge of Federal and State statutes, regulations and processes regarding child support enforcement

• Experience in child support enforcement

• Experience in caseload management

• Experience in financial collections

• Experience participating in administrative hearings and procedures

• Experience using Oregon's child support program computer system ORIGIN

• A Bachelor's degree or higher

• Intermediate level proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook

• Must pass Department of Justice trainings related to security and confidentiality of data, in order to be unaccompanied and perform work duties within Family Support Unit

Within Sixty (60) Days of Hire

• Possession of or ability to obtain Notary Public Certification

WORK SCHEDULE

This position works 40 hours during a standard workweek of Monday through Friday. Specific hours of work will be discussed with the candidate selected for this position at the time an offer of employment is extended.
