Job Description
The City of Naperville seeks a motivated and degreed individual to serve as Assistant Planner for the Transportation, Engineering and Development Business Group (TED). As a key member of our Planning team, and reporting to a Senior Planner, this position provides technical support to planning and zoning boards and commissions, reviews and expedites applications for variances, conducts plan and permit reviews of modest to moderate scope & complexity, and responds to inquiries related to zoning and planning matters.

Qualifications
At a minimum, applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in Planning, Public Administration or a related field, plus meaningful internship experience or related municipal work experience. A valid State of Illinois Class D Driver's License is also required.
Preferred candidates will possess strong analytical and proven communication skills, plus strong knowledge of project management principles. Also important to this position are computer skills and experience in report preparation.
The full salary range for Assistant Planner is $54,400 - $85,888.
The full salary range for Community Planner is $64,622 – $102,025.
