Job Description

GovHR USA is pleased to announce the recruitment and selection process for a Staff Attorney for PACE Bus in Arlington Heights, IL.


Under the direction of the General Counsel, provides in-house transactional legal services to Pace. Drafts, negotiates, reviews, and revises contracts, agreements, and policies; conducts legal research and writes legal memoranda; handles real estate matters, including closings; and performs other duties as assigned or required.


The successful candidate’s education and experience will include the following:


·        Bachelor's and a Juris Doctor degree.

·        Licensed to practice law in the State of Illinois. Admission to the Illinois State Bar and the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Illinois is preferred.

·        A minimum of three years’ experience practicing in contract and real estate law. Previous experience defending mechanics lien cases in court is preferred.

·        Must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of contract and real estate law and can draft contracts and policies.

·        Excellent reading comprehension, research, and verbal and written communication skills, including grammar, spelling, and punctuation.

·        A highly organized, detail oriented, and resourceful team player.  Able to successfully and efficiently work on numerous projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.

·        A highly skilled negotiator who demonstrates strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills and must demonstrate the ability to maintain confidentiality.

·        Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Applications, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Adobe, SharePoint, and PowerPoint. 

·        Position is subject to the provisions set forth in 5 ILCS 430/5-45 (c) of the State Officials and Employee Ethics Act.

·        Travel to Cook and its collar counties is required.
