The Director of Development Services is a vital member of the City of Hesperia’s Executive Management Team which works cohesively, supports open communication and mutual respect. The City is seeking a team-oriented, politically astute, collaborative leader to become part of this dynamic and professional team. As a key team member, the Director plays an integral part in modeling the City’s high standards necessary for the professional operation of the department and setting expectations and goals for efficient performance while ensuring a high level of customer service is provided to residents and internal and external customers. As well, this position will oversee and manage the day-to day activities of the Development Services Department, which supports Engineering, Community Development, Planning, Building Inspection, Plan Check and Zoning programs, and consisting of 34 employees including four (4) direct reports.
The City offers a comprehensive benefits package which includes CalPERS Retirement (prior public service 2.7% @ 55), 4% City contribution into 401 (a) Deferred Compensation Plan, Allotment of $1,450 toward medical, dental, and vision insurance with employee Dental and Vision insurance paid by the City, a 9/80 work schedule, and 84 hours of Administrative Leave per fiscal year.
