The City of Missoula is hiring for a planning professional on our Permits and Land Use team. This position will review permits for compliance with zoning and design standards; identify and resolve issues affecting complex building and development permit applications and violations of land use regulations; provide information and assistance to developers and public on land use. Our Permits and Land Use planning team will also be involved in broad code reform efforts aimed at aligning our regulatory code with our goal to promote equitable growth and a resilient and sustainable community.
The Planner will perform professional planning duties related to the development of policy, the implementation of related municipal plans and the review of public and private development in alignment with the City’s regulations and goals.
The Planner job titles/levels are differentiated by the amount of professional, directly related work experience; variety and complexity of assigned duties; the degree of independent judgment exercised; ability to resolve complex problems; and oversight/review of work of the other planners.
Permit and Land Use Planning: Perform professional planning duties related to implementation of zoning regulations, subdivision regulations, and related municipal plans and policies.
Hourly Rate:
Assistant Planner: $25.2636/hour then $25.8952/hr after 6 mo. probationary period
Associate Planner: $27.1583/hour then $27.8373/hr after 6 mo. probationary period
