This position is responsible for supporting the development and implementation of transit improvement projects. This position develops cost estimates, performs calculations and designs, conducts studies, reviews designs and reports, and supports all aspects of the project while working with staff and consultants. Salary Range: $80,082 - $124,127.

Duties & Responsibilities:    
ESSENTIAL:
     *  Manages consultant design contracts and construction contracts including assignment of work, review of project progress, and monitoring budget and schedules.
     *  Oversees and directs technical studies for the selection and implementation of capital projects. These studies involve site planning, agency design development, drainage and hydraulic studies, structural analysis, traffic engineering, and construction.
     *  Coordinates projects with local, state, regional and federal agencies to ensure compliance with applicable standards.
     *  Prepares Requests for Proposals (RFP) and Invitations for Bids (IFB).
     *  Participates equitably in the development and implementation of division goals and objectives. Strives to achieve the RTD goals for diversity and DBE participation.
     *  Participates in community involvement to address community, business, and neighborhood concerns by providing public presentations.

     *  All other job-related duties, as assigned.

Qualifications:    
     * A Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
     *  A minimum of five years direct experience in the design and construction of transit and transportation projects with exposure to all aspects of civil engineering.
     *  Proficiency in civil engineering and construction of public improvements including grading, drainage, utilities, roadways, track, stations, structures and understanding of the integration of system elements into the civil design.
     *  Conceptual knowledge of computer-aided design (CAD), CAD commands, and CPM schedules.
     *  Knowledge of local, state, regional, and federal agencies and their codes or standards.
     *  Ability to develop, read, and interpret complex engineering plans and specifications.
     *  Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing
     *  Ability to use sound judgment
     *  Ability to manage time and workload effectively which includes planning, organizing, and prioritizing with attention to details.
     *  Ability to work flexible hours, including nights and weekends.
