In this essential role within the City’s Finance Department, the Account Specialist performs a variety of specialized accounts receivable and administrative duties in the maintenance of financial records for various City Departments. The person in this role must provide exceptional customer service, in person at the front counter and over the telephone, while also maintaining multiple technical databases.
In this position you will work closely with the Parking Division, assisting customers over the phone and in person with the processing of parking citation payments and permits and processing invoices for payment. You will audit deposits from other city departments and reconcile and balance the central cash registers, and prepare bank deposits. You will also perform various clerical functions including answering the main phone line for the city, processing various payments and permits at the front counter, going to the bank and running other errands, and processing incoming and outgoing mail for the City. You will also serve as back up for other Finance Department personnel and assist with special projects as assigned.
