The Challenge
We are looking for an experienced Engineering Technician to join our Project Development team.
In this role, you will:
- Collect survey data and perform drafting.
- Work on transportation construction project designs, estimates, site plans and contracts, including project special provisions for Central Let, Division Let Projects, and Purchase Order Contracts.
- Maintain project records/reports and perform surveying calculations.
- Perform office assignments, such as estimating, using a calculator, iPad, and computer.
What You Bring
- Familiarity reading plans and applying specifications, design manuals, and standards to develop construction plans.
- Ability to make independent decisions using sound engineering judgment.
- Computer skills using an iPad and laptop for record keeping of field data.
- Ability to work in outside with exposure to hazards, including heights, highway traffic, and traversing rough terrain in evaluating future highway construction projects.
- Ability to work nights and weekends, as required, to any assigned project in our Division 2 region.
- Apply a safety philosophy and program to all operations.
- A Class "C" driver's license.
- Safety toe shoes.
- Good communications skills to verbally and in writing communicate in a clear, concise manner.
Bonus Points!
- Candidates with MicroStation and GeoPak experience.
Education & Experience
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering Technology, Survey Technology, or a related field, and
- 2+ years relevant technician-level experience; or
- An equivalent combination of training and experience.
