Job Description

The City of McMinnville seeks an Interim Finance Director from September through November 2019, or until the Finance Director position is filled. The hours of work, work performed, and compensation are all negotiable and dependent upon experience and availability. The City's current Finance Director will retire at the end of August and we need someone who can keep our Finance Department running smoothly during the interim period. The Interim Finance Director reports to the City Manager, Jeff Towery, and works closely with the City's internal services departments: Legal, Information Services, and Human Resources. The following projects and duties occur during this interim period: Financial Statement Audit for FY 2018-19 Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) for FY 2018-19 Monthly closing for General Ledger General Management Responsibilities Internal Controls and Approvals Supervision of four Finance Department employees (accountants in AP, payroll and general accounting) all with high levels of experience and capability While we hope to find an Interim Finance Director who can assume all of the responsibilities listed above, we are willing and able to divide the work based on a candidate's or consultant's skill area and availability.
