Hutto is a home rule city operating under the council-manager form of government. The City Council consists of the Mayor and six Council members. The City Council appoints the City Manager, City Attorney, City Secretary, and the Municipal Judge. The City of Hutto Financial Services Department plans and directs the City’s financial activities and provides information to support decisions. The department analyzes financial and operational data, such as performance measures, and makes recommendations on City operations and procedures to ensure fiscal accountability and effective use of City Resources.
The City of Hutto seeks an experienced director with an in-depth knowledge of municipal accounting, budgeting, financial control, and financial forecasting methods to serve as its next Finance Director. The Finance Director is responsible for all aspects of financing and accounting to include planning, implementing, managing, and controlling all finance related activities for the city. This will include direct responsibility for accounting, finance, forecasting, budgeting, and purchasing.
A bachelor’s degree in accounting and a minimum of 10 years of progressive experience with supervisory responsibility is required. A master’s degree in business administration is preferred. An equivalent combination of relative knowledge and experience may be considered. A Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification is preferred. Experience in municipal accounting and finance is required.
The City of Hutto offers a highly competitive salary of $175,000 - $215,000, commensurate with the Austin-area market, qualifications, and experience.
