The Challenge
We are looking for 2 skilled Automotive Mechanic/Equipment Repair Technician II's to join our Forsyth County Equipment team.
 
In this role, you will:
    • Perform skilled mechanic work involving services and repair of mechanical systems of gasoline/diesel powered automotive and heavy equipment.
    • Perform mechanic work at various levels. Work assignments vary in complexity depending on the type of mechanical system.
    • Diagnose, repair, and do preventive maintenance on tires, tubes, wheel & rims, cranking systems, lighting systems, cooling systems, fuel system, and hydraulic systems.
 
What You Bring
    • Experience performing preventive maintenance on 1+ of the following: light, medium, heavy duty trucks, or heavy equipment.
    • A complete set of mechanic tools.
    • Experience diagnosing basic electrical systems and proper wiring repairs.
    • Basic hydraulic system repair experience including component replacement and hoses.
    • Experience troubleshooting and repairing at least 1 of the following: light, medium, heavy duty or farm equipment brake components.
    • Knowledge of diagnostic software, tools, and equipment for trucks and heavy equipment.
    • Class A Commercial Driver's License with Tanker "N" endorsement. (If you don't have it, you can gain it through our on-the-job training within 360 days of hire.)
    • Knowledge of diagnostic software, tools, and equipment for trucks and heavy equipment.
    • Ability to do all work safely and meet all safety regulation.
    • Ability to prepare and maintain paperwork relating to employment, equipment repair, inventory, and service records.
    • Communication skills to understand written and verbal instructions.
    • Strength to move parts and materials to repair and maintain equipment.
    • Ability to safely operate equipment for testing purposes.
    • A demonstrated commitment to provide safe working environment by leading by example.
    • Ability to read and interpret Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) manuals.
    • Safety toe shoes.
 
Notes
    • A pre-employment drug screening is required.
    • We will conduct a pre-employment drug test and background check for your past 2 years about controlled substances and alcohol testing.
    • You will be required to work during adverse weather conditions such as snow and/or ice, tornadoes, hurricanes, etc. that can lead to working extended daily hours, weekends, and holidays.
    • We may require current certification by the EPA as a Type I, II, III, or Universal Technician.
 
Education & Experience
    • High School/GED diploma, and
    • 2+ years of relevant experience, or
    • An equivalent combination of education and experience.
