About the Position
The Village of Arlington Heights is seeking a passionate and dedicated Social Services Coordinator in the Health and Human Services Department. The Social Services Coordinator is responsible for leading and delivering social services programs and services to residents of the Village of Arlington Heights.
With the goal of promoting the health and wellbeing of residents, the Social Services Coordinator will provide mental health services, financial assistance, crisis response, community outreach and education, program development, and participate in social service community collaboratives. The Social Services Coordinator will offer residents in-need psychosocial assessment, intake, short-term counseling, and referrals to other social service agencies.
In addition, the Social Services Coordinator will supervise employees in the division and is responsible for managing the budget for counseling services, emergency assistance, and Park District scholarships. The Social Services Coordinator also oversees the Holiday Assistance program. A demonstrated history of successful collaboration with Police and Fire Department personnel is highly preferred.
The ideal candidate will hold a Master’s degree in Social Work or related field and a minimum of three years of direct service with one year of supervisory experience. A valid Illinois driver’s license is required. Experience with providing crisis intervention is required. Bilingual (especially Spanish speaking) candidates are strongly encouraged to apply.
The salary range for this position is $95,602 - $129,063, with an anticipated hiring range of $95,602 - $107,000 depending on qualifications and experience. This position includes a diverse and competitive benefits package, including health and dental insurance, paid vacation, and participation in the Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund pension plan. Health & Human Services Department
The Village of Arlington Heights a northwest suburb of Chicago, population 75,101, is accepting applications for Program Coordinator at the Senior Center, a division of the Health & Human Services Department.
This position is responsible for all aspects of researching, planning, implementing, coordinating and evaluating programs and events for the Senior Center. This position involves interacting with other Village staff, internal agencies and external organizations to provide high quality services to older adults of the community.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to creating materials to promote programs and events that emulate a positive image of aging. Marketing material may include bi-monthly newsletters, flyers, monthly reports, press releases and social media postings. Knowledge of programs and services relating to senior services and skill in writing reports preferred. Good knowledge of social media and Microsoft Office programs. Minimum requirements include a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Services, Social Services, or related field and two years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job.
Starting salary for this position is $78,902 and includes a diverse and competitive benefits package. May need to work evenings and/or weekends on occasion.
