The City of El Paso, Texas (est. pop. 678,415), is a dynamic and vibrant community located on the US-Mexico border. Referred to as “Sun City,” a moniker derived from the 300+ days of sunshine experienced annually, El Paso is a warm and friendly mosaic of cultures, traditions, and ethnic groups. The City is seeking a visionary and proactive leader to serve as the Director of Purchasing & Strategic Sourcing. The Director will oversee the planning, implementing, and directing of the purchasing and procurement activities for the City of El Paso.
Qualified applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree in business or public administration or related field, and six years of professional materials management, purchasing, or procurement experience, including two years of supervisory experience. Additionally, within one year of appointment, the candidate should obtain valid certification as a Certified Public Procurement Officer (CPPO) from the Universal Public Purchasing Certification Council.
The hiring range for this position is from $108,740 - $201,600 annually.
