One permanent full time position available

Full salary range: $77,064.00 - $118,830.40

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm

 

Job summary:

Manages the operational, financial and personnel activities of the Water division. Plans, directs, coordinates and supervises the operation and maintenance of a municipal water plant, distribution system and related customer service activities and public information and education activities. Ensures environmental and public health and compliance through sound technical, financial and personnel management. Assures compliance with all local, state and federal environmental and safety regulations.

 

Minimum qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, environmental science or equivalent from an educational institution accredited by a DOE recognized accreditation body required. Five years minimum experience in water treatment plant operations and maintenance required. Or equivalent combination of education and experience. Iowa DNR Grade III Water Treatment Operator’s License and Iowa DNR Grade III Water Distribution Operator’s License or equivalent from another reciprocating state required with the ability to obtain Iowa DNR Grade IV Water Treatment Operator’s License and Iowa DNR Grade IV Water Distribution Operator’s License within one year of hire. Valid driver’s license with satisfactory driving record required. Must be 18 years of age per Iowa Code 92.8. Must pass criminal background check.

 

Preferred qualifications:

Ten years of related experience and or training in water treatment plant operations and maintenance preferred. Iowa DNR Grade IV Water Treatment Operator’s License and Iowa DNR Grade IV Water Distribution Operator’s License preferred. National Incident Management System certification preferred.
