Approximately 1.5 million people live in the City of San Antonio, the second-largest city in the state of Texas, and the seventh-largest in the United States.  Since 1970, population growth and land annexation have doubled the size of San Antonio, which currently spans more than 460 square miles.  Opportunity Home San Antonio (formerly San Antonio Housing Authority) has provided housing opportu­nities to residents for over 80 years and is among the largest hous­ing authorities in the nation.  Governed by a seven-member Board of Commissioners, OHSA is a nationally recognized leader in the development of innovative and accessible low-income housing, touching the lives of over 62,500 people in San Antonio.  OHSA owns and manages approximately 6,000 public housing units at 74 properties, 4,300 mixed-income units at 31 properties, and 7,800 units at 36 properties through non-profit entities and partnerships.  The agency administers about 13,000 Federal Housing Choice (Section 8) rent­al assistance vouchers.  OHSA has nearly 700 FTEs, an annual operating budget of $250 million, and a current value of more than $500 million in assets. The Chief Operations Officer (COO) reports to the President/CEO, supervises approximately 400 staff, and provides oversight for a budget of approximately $200 million.  A primary responsibility of the COO is to lead, direct and provide oversight of core housing operations including Assisted Housing Programs; Public Housing; Resident Engagement; Security; and Operations Support.  Requirements include a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Political Science, Finance, Urban Planning, Economics, Public Administration or a related field is required, plus at least ten years industry experience, with five years at an executive level of administrative or operational oversight in housing and community development or a related industry.  A Master’s degree is preferred.  Candidates must have the ability to earn certifications as required by assigned tasks and have a Texas Class “C” driver’s license at the time of hire.  Starting salary is open, dependent upon qualifications.  OHSA offers an attractive benefits package.  If interested in this outstanding opportunity, visit www.srnsearch.com to view a detailed brochure and apply.  Position is open until filled.  Questions regarding this recruitment may be directed to Ms. S.
