The North Texas Emergency Communications Center (NTECC) is composed of four partner cities: Addison, Coppell, Farmers Branch, and Carrollton. The four cities provide police, fire, and EMS services to an approximate resident population of 220,000. Daytime populations are significantly higher. The NTECC provides 9-1-1 services for the residents and visitors of the above-mentioned municipalities.  Over the years, the four NTECC cities have cooperated on a number of initiatives, including highly interactive service delivery models among their fire departments, shared resources and teams within the police departments, and participation on a common radio system initiative. Consolidation of dispatch is a strategy to allow the cities to leverage their current capabilities into a larger and stronger organization.
