Ice Arena Specialist's typical duties include: being responsible for leading the ice rink staff in the operation and basic upkeep of the Ice Arena facility, rink surfaces, and related amenities (player benches, locker rooms, ice resurface garages, walkways, glass, boards, arena grounds, etc.); playing a key role in supervising the operations of the Ice Arena by supervising assigned part time staff, working with customers, and keeping activities/events on time ensuring that scheduled ice maintenance functions are performed in accordance the applicable facility schedule. The incumbent works independently under the general supervision of the Recreation Coordinator.

Lead Groundskeeper's typical duties include: performing a variety of semi-skilled horticultural or turf maintenance duties in the development, maintenance, and repair of landscape areas or sports turf areas at public parks, public buildings, streetscapes, athletic fields, and related facilities; operating a wide variety of landscape-related tools and equipment; assisting in the monitoring, recognition, and treatment of plant pests, fungi, and other diseases related to sod and landscaped areas including the application of pesticides, fungicides, and herbicides, in accordance with established procedures; cleaning landscaped areas and related items for the purpose of preventing flooding, eliminating hazards, and removing trash.
