***$10,000 HIRING INCENTIVE*** Effective, October 1, 2024, newly hired Deputy Sheriff and Sheriff Corporals will receive a $10,000 hiring incentive (if eligible).  Lateral entry rank and starting base salary depend on prior law enforcement experience. Documented satisfactory job performance is required to qualify for the incremental incentive payments of $3,000 after completion of 3 months of service; $3,000 after completion of 6 months of service; and $4,000 after completion of 12 months of service for a total of $10,000. This amount is not added to the base salary. This program is collaboratively funded by the Georgia Governor’s Office of Planning and Budget (OPB), Public Safety and Community Violence Reduction (PSCVR) Grant and the Athens-Clarke County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO).
